Forest Invasion
As part of Art Week 2024 in Laguna, an oak-pine forest invaded a small gallery space and beyond. We invited fashionably dressed visitors to step onto the new, uneven, and soft ground of the gallery, sit on a wooden log, and listen to the recorded sounds of nature. The experience blurred the lines between the real and the unreal, awakening the senses—from the earthy smell to the filtered sunlight. Art pieces were placed within the woodland, engaging in a peculiar dialogue with the surreal.
The installation was later replanted within the Laguna courtyard as an experiment to test the species' adaptability in an urban context, serving as a prototype for a future, larger intervention.
